The Shearins

Amy emailed me one day about setting up a family photo session in Wilmington, NC.  Later we decided since it was the same weekend as the Azalea Festival, it would probably be best to stay far away from downtown, so to Wrightsville Beach we went!  Amy and I have been great friends since 9th grade at Page High School in Greensboro, NC.  Amy met her husband Jarrett at UNC Chapel Hill and were soon married after college.  They are fabulous parents to their 3 children: Jackson 6 1/2, Maggie Claire 4, and Ellie 2.  I really think that I accomplished what I was hoping to with this session, and that was to really show everyone’s personalities and show how each one of the family of 5 related to each other.

I see a great friendship amongst the three children.  There is nothing like a sister or brother, Jackson, Maggie Claire, and Ellie don’t know it yet, but having a sibling is the best thing in the world.  Your brother or sister really “know” who you are and have some of the same but yet different identities.  They will be your best friend forever, through good and bad times.  But most of all, you will love one another, no matter who they are, because they are your family.  I can’t wait to see how these three Shearin children grow and develop great and close relationships, I know they will because they have great parents that demonstrate to them what is important in life.

Jackson has a fun and animated personality.  Maggie Claire plays off of Jackson and is the real HAM in the family, she was so FUN to capture!!!  And little Miss Ellie, as you can see is the loving, cuddly, baby of the group.  She is the snuggler of the family for sure, it is so wonderful to witness this from my perspective because you can truly see how she loves her mom and dad.  I was lucky to be able to spend more time with the Shearins outside of our shoot.  The children astounded me with the way they all know how to play on my iPhone and download games.  I was exchanging games I had on my phone with Jackson and the ones he had on his mom’s phone.  Just hilarious to me!  It’s crazy and scary to know a two year old knows how to work a phone!

Amy and Jarrett, thank you again…I hope you enjoy the pictures for many years.  I also did a little slideshow to watch on Vimeo below as a special surprise!  Click on the link at the very bottom of the page…
