This wedding of Chantal and JP was very special for me because the bride walking down the aisle was my son Miller’s nanny. Every time Chantal entered our home Miller would light up with excitement and his smile would stretch from ear to ear. These two were peas in a pod and this connection was an incredible help because with my work I needed someone with Miller who understood the hours and nature of my job. Chantal is one of the sweetest and most caring individuals I have ever met, so I was thrilled when she asked me to be the photographer at her wedding!

Chantal and JP met at McIntosh in Downtown Charleston back in 2013 and dated for 15 months until JP popped the question. JP is a spitfire who loves to have a good time – there is never a dull moment when he is around! Leading up to the big moment, JP surprised Chantal with a meaningful book she had designed years ago highlighting her family members. Later on that day the two had a drink at McIntosh, grabbed Basil take out and headed home. While the happy couple was enjoying their dinner by the fire, JP asked for Chantal’s hand in marriage! How could she say “No”? The following day JP flew his fiancee to NYC for a night at the Plaza Hotel. In JP’s words he wanted them to start out they way he wanted them to end up! How precious can you get?!

The ceremony took place at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church on February 21st. It was a small, intimate wedding filled with family and friends because JP and Chantal value tradition and simplicity. Chantal’s dress, also worn by her sister, from Monique Lhuillier was breathtaking, complete with a lace overlay and a gold bow accent on her lower back. The groom wore a handsome grey, Grady Ervin suit with a yellow tie along with his Grandfather’s white gold cufflinks. As Chantal walked down the aisle, JP’s expression was unforgettable. You could see the sparkle in his eyes showing the undeniable love he has for his beautiful bride.

Once the ceremony was completed the newlyweds along with their loved ones strolled over to The Old Post House for a delicious lunch and reception. Laughter filled the restaurant as family and friends celebrated the marriage of Chantal and JP. There is no better feeling than scanning a room and seeing a smile on everyone’s face!

Chantal and JP, thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer, your wedding will always hold a special place in my heart! I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
