Laura and Joe met in the summer of 2011 while they were out with mutual friends in downtown Greenville, SC.  A little later they saw each other again at a party.  Joe thought she was beautiful and finally made the move to ask Laura out on a date. The couple had a great time together and after a few dates Laura learned she had received a nursing job in Charleston (MUSC nursing school graduate)! This news was really exciting for Laura and after speaking with Joe they decided to keep seeing each other when she moved in August. Joe decided to obtain his Masters in Accounting at the College of Charleston and they were in the same town again.  After graduating in May 2013, Joe moved to Charlotte to work for an accounting firm. Despite long distance dating, the romance continued.

Laura’s extended family always celebrates the July 4th weekend at Edisto Beach and of course Joe was invited. One day while Laura and Joe were walking on the beach he asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Although Laura had no idea that Joe was going to propose, with no hesitation she said “Yes!”   That 4th of July was spent with family celebrating our country and the newly engaged couple!

Laura and Joe have many interests in common such as being big supporters of their alma maters (Clemson for Laura, Wofford for Joe), participating in Greek life in college, watching sports, enjoying beach trips AND having the exact same birthday!! (January 28, 1988) .

May 30th, 2015 was a beautiful day for a wedding at Christ Church in Greenville, SC. Laura, along with her bridesmaids and mother were busy getting ready at The Poinsett Club while Joe and the groomsmen were at the Poinsett Hotel.  The strapless Lela Rose bridesmaid dresses were elegantly classic with a lace bodice over a rose-colored, crinkle chiffon.  Laura chose an Anne Barge wedding dress with an illusion high, lace neckline, cap sleeves, narrowing to a fitted waist.  The ball gown’s flowing skirt was quite elegant also trimmed in lace. As a wedding gift, the bride’s mother gave Laura her great grandmother’s wedding band to wear on her wedding day. Laura’s older sister had both their initials added to a handkerchief so that the two married sisters’ initials were together on the handkerchief.

The ceremony was sweet and traditional. Laura’s family has been attending Christ Church since she was a child and it was very important to Laura that she take her vows there. All of the couple’s family and friends were in attendance to support the sacrament of Holy Matrimony for Laura and Joe. The reception was held at The Poinsett Club where a lovely flower garland was draped around the entrance. Laura loves flowers so she wanted her reception to be filled with as many colorful arrangements as possible. Her five-tier wedding cake was also adorned with pink and lilac roses.  High chandeliers, light pink table cloths with candles and flowers enhanced the beautiful space.

As the night went on everyone was dancing, laughing and having the best time. Laura couldn’t have asked for a more memorable evening to spend with her new husband, Joe, family and friends.

Thank you Joe and Laura for letting me be your photographer! I had a wonderful time. I wish you many blessings in your marriage.  Special thanks to Cameron Reynolds for being my hometown Greenville second shooter.
