Caitlin and Andrew’s wedding day is one I will never forget! It will forever go down in my books as “The wedding I shot during a downtown Charleston flood!” With three different downtown locations to get to there was no shortage of obstacles. There were streets closed, cars washed away, canoes in the streets, and stalled-out trolleys (yes the groomsmen’s!). To top it off the groomsmen ended up carrying the groom on their shoulders and the bride was 40 minutes late! I’ll tell you though, there isn’t another bride or groom (or families for that matter) that could have handled it anymore beautifully than Caitlin and Andrew. Miss Katherine Miller of Yoj Events was a complete lifesaver, and I doubt anything would have gone as smoothly if she hadn’t been the wedding planner! What could have been a complete mess turned out to be such a fun and loving affair!
I met them both at their engagement session (seen here). I knew after meeting them that they were such a cute and lovable couple! Caitlin and Andrew will now both reside in Charleston and continue their passion as pharmacists to organ transplant patients at MUSC. I couldn’t have asked for more loving and genuine families than the Musgrave and Mardis families. During all the chaos of this day, we all just laughed and said, “As long as Caitlin and Andrew get married we are all okay!”
Cailtin added many sentimental touches throughout the day. She had a cookie table that included cookies made by the women in both families; her bouquet had special pins from her grandparents; she was wearing her grandfather’s ring on her right hand; and of course St. Luke’s Chapel was chosen for the ceremony as they are both graduates of MUSC.
A very warm thank you to your families and to Caitlin and Andrew for having me as your photographer this year! And my fun friend and second shooter, Jen Smith; I couldn’t have done it without you girl! Many of her beautiful pictures are below.
