October is a magical month for weddings here in Charleston, SC and one of the sweetest couples, Catie and Dawson, decided this would be the perfect time to tie the knot.

Catie is the manger for Palm Avenue and Dawson is a commercial banker for WellsFargo. Thank goodness for mutual friends because without them this perfect couple may have never met!

The wedding took place on October 17th at First Scots Presbyterian Church and what a beautiful day it was!  Catie’s lovely, strapless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline paired perfectly with rose gold drop earrings.  The bridesmaids wore a short silk chiffon dress and all had their hair pulled back in a low bun.  The ceremony was sweet and simple.  Catie and Dawson were glowing from ear to ear as they walked down the aisle hand in hand.

Catie and Dawson wanted their wedding day to have a laid back atmosphere and a southern, rustic feel so most of the day took place outside.  They chose Wingate Plantation for their reception, a new venue on Johns Island owned by Sarah Rodelsperger.  Thank you Sarah for all the hard work you put into this magical day!  Wingate had an elegant tent under which guests enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages including their favorite bottled beers.  The two-tier wedding cake was topped with fresh pink garden roses.  Charming floral arrangements and dainty silver votives decorated the tables covered in classic white.

The night was spent under the magnificent live oak trees draped in Spanish moss with cafe lighting creating a luminous canopy below.  The first dance is one of the most anticipated moments of a wedding so that is why “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait was chosen.  It illustrated the love between Catie and Dawson.  Close family and friends shagged and boogied the evening away to the upbeat sounds of the seven-piece cover band from Charleston known as Permanent Vacation.  After hours of laughing and celebrating it was time for the bride and groom to take their leave.  Loved ones showered Mr and Mrs. Smith with confetti as they headed to their getaway car.

Thank you Catie and Dawson for letting me be a part of your wedding day! I can see the love you have for each other!  Cheers to a bright future together!

Always a special thanks to my second shooter, Brooke Bertschy!
