Italy – Part V…Feudi Winery

We made a day trip to the Feudi Winery outside of Avellino, Italy. (Pronounced: fay-ew-dee) We were greeted and ate a fabulous 5 course lunch paired with their signature wines.  (Unavailable in the US)  This was a full size glassed in kitchen with about 6-8 chefs!  And what a treat this lunch was!  A journal picture below shows exactly what we had, thanks to Andy, my Brother in Law, who is Proprietor & Chef of Chefs 105 in Morehead, NC!  He was fabulous our whole trip telling us exactly what was in each dish, just by tasting!  Andy didn’t know much everyday Italian, but when it came to food, he knew it all boy!  A phenomenal chef himself, Andy was challenged by the Chef at Feudi.  The Chef brought out a dish and had Andy tell him what it was…and of course Andy got it right!  “Carbonara!”  The winery prepared their version: Ricotta Ravioli, favabean, fresh peas, pecorino egg foam, & crisp bacon.  Delicious!

So enjoy a short wine tour…there is so much about this winery that what fascinating!  Very Modern, as with a Japanese Architect…herb and rose gardens galore!  They use all fresh ingredients in their kitchen along with the roses to flavor their wines!  Thank you Feudi for the grand lunch and tour!

Below: one of my favorite pics…my dad in the back laughing like he always does!  This might have been when he was told he was eating Rabbit for lunch!  🙂
