Caroline & Robert

Caroline & Robert met through mutual friends as freshmen at Wofford College. They began dating on Valentine’s Day of 2011.  Both very shy, it took them a while to be comfortable around each other.   Robert proposed December 16, 2017 in Botany Bay. Caroline had a funny feeling ahead of time, and as the planner she is, she made sure she looked her best to say ‘yes.’

Caroline and Robert were married on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Montage Palmetto Bluff.  Ashley Rhodes of Ashley Rhodes Events put together a classic, low country Sunday brunch-styled wedding. Caroline and Robert wanted a daytime wedding unique among the other weddings they had attended.  The tented reception was abundant with flowing Champagne and delicious brunch items.  Colorful bursts of peach and pink created an overall bright and cheerful mood.  The floral garland over the entrance of the tent was a perfect focal point for everyone to take pictures.

Caroline & Robert were looking forward to finally having all their family and friends in one place at the same time! They even had a local artist creating a painting of the event as it was occurring! Everyone had a wonderful time socializing, drinking mimosas, and singing 90’s hits with the band at the top of their lungs! The exit was perfection as the bride and groom walked down the long dock, with each guest holding white and blue colored streamer wands.  They made it to the end of the dock, hopped on Palmetto Bluff’s famous antique boat, complete with a monogrammed flag flying in the wind as they zoomed away for a private one-hour boat ride, as the new Mr. and Mrs. James!
