Kim & Joe

Kim and Joe met during the first few weeks of college and lived in the same freshman dorm at Loyola University Maryland. They became good friends but, didn’t start dating until their senior year & they have been together ever since!

In November of 2017, Kim and Joe were engaged in Kennebunkport, Maine. The reason for the trip there was to pick up a new golden retriever puppy (Charlie Banks) from the breeder. But before puppy time, they stopped to do a quick hike along the majestic coastline.  Joe proposed down on the rocks near the ocean. As an additional surprise, Joe had flown in friends and family to Maine for that weekend. He had rented a big beach house for everyone to stay in. They spent the rest of the weekend together under the same roof celebrating the engagement. On Monday morning, Kim & Joe picked up Charlie Banks from the breeder and headed back to NYC to celebrate both the engagement and new family member!

Kim and Joe tied the knot on May 4, 2019, during a beautiful ceremony at May River Chapel on the property of Montage Palmetto Bluff.  The ceremony was conducted by their favorite priest and good friend, Father Jack, who had made the journey from Loyola. The Voices of El Shaddai choir sang during the recessional in celebration of the newlyweds and led the guests into the cocktail hour!

Ashley Rhodes with Ashley Rhodes Events knocked it out of the park with the décor of the cocktail hour on May River Lawn followed by the tented dinner reception on the Village Green. The overall look was elegant, crisp, and naturally organic!  Charlie Banks made an appearance as a surprise to Kim after the first look. Each guest had his/her monogram hand-painted by the bride herself on a woven fan. The fan doubled as a party favor. It was a joyous and wonderful occasion and their guests from near and far had the most amazing first-time experience celebrating with Kim & Joe at their secret spot!
