I first met Emily and Bascom one month prior to their wedding at a swanky new spot called Avondale Wine & Cheese in Charleston, SC.  After a wonderful champagne tasting, bonding and lots of laughs, I knew there was a great connection between the three of us. Emily and I discovered that we both had graduated from Clemson University (Go Tigers!). While chatting about Tigertown we made the connection that her uncle and my dad were fraternity brothers at Clemson! After meeting this perfect couple, I could not wait to be a part of their fabulous day!

Let me tell you a little bit about Emily and Bascom’s love story. The two met through mutual friends at Fish, a restaurant in downtown Charleston. Little did Emily know that after only a few hours had passed, sharing stories of mutual friends and talking about college football, Bascom had already fallen head over heels for her. I don’t blame him.  Emily has a contagious smile and an outgoing, fun personality. After flirting for a of couple of weeks the couple met  again in Charleston and reconnected for the wedding of Emily’s best friend. Then, finally after three years of weddings, beach trips and football games, Bascom proposed marriage to Emily.  Both families were there to celebrate and congratulate the couple on starting a new life together.

I knew this wedding would have an extra sparkle because it was set for New Year’s Eve! Bringing in 2015 with friends, family and a new last name would be the icing on the cake for Emily! With 12 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen I anticipated a great time photographing this fabulous wedding party! The ceremony was held at the Central United Methodist Church in Florence,SC. As the clock struck 8 o’clock the guests stood to watch Emily walk down the aisle in her stunning Augusta Jones “Paz” dress. Emily and Bascom were now officially man and wife . . . let the party begin!

It was a magical, winter evening as Emily and Bascom spent the whole night dancing with the most important people in their lives. They toasted to their new adventure together and sealed it with a kiss! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year to the newlyweds! This was one for the books. The Florence Country Club was taken over by the musical talent of “7 Once” along with scrumptious food and a delicious wedding cake made by Buttercream. The evening ended with fireworks and cheers from all the guests. Surrounded by friends, family, with the kick off of not only a New Year, but also a new life as a couple, made for a beautiful and memorable way to start 2015!
