Lindsey and Anthony met four years ago at Clemson University (Go Tigers!).  At a party they passed on the stairs and recognized each other from matching on a dating app a few nights earlier.  Anthony jokingly teased Lindsey for not messaging him on the app and insisted on giving her his number.  After talking for hours on the stairs, they made plans to get together the next day and realized they actually were the perfect match!

About three years later, Lindsey and Anthony were in Charleston for Anthony’s birthday.  They had planned on taking photos at the Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park, before dinner. Lindsey was thinking that they had a lot of time before the reservation, so she persuaded Anthony to walk the battery first, which made them 30 minutes late.

Finally, he eagerly pulled her up to the fountain and said, “There is something that I need to tell you. I knew I wanted to marry you when we were here at this same spot three years ago.  I just wanted to make sure you could put up with me for that long.”  He dropped down to one knee!

Anthony then said, “Even though it’s my birthday today, I got you a little something!” Lindsey shouted, “Yes!” In addition to the photographer to capture the proposal, he had arranged for her parents and their golden retriever, Sammy, to be there as well to celebrate!

Lindsey and Anthony were married Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Old Wide Awake Plantation. The ceremony was held at a park by the river under a giant oak tree, dripping in Spanish moss. Sammy, the Best Dog ever, even walked down the “aisle.” The cocktail reception took place on a huge wrap-around porch and the reception was tented on the side lawn – just like a big southern plantation backyard wedding!  Margaret McKenzie did an effortless job providing a lot of traditional southern elements at the gorgeous 200-year-old plantation. The décor was absolutely stunning and the food served was strictly Charleston-inspired. The color scheme of light blue, peach, and green created a very cheerful atmosphere. In addition, there were lawn games, rocking chairs, and a cigar and whisky cart.  Lindsey and Anthony definitely had the wedding of their dreams while providing a full lowcountry, outdoor experience for their guests.
