My heart just melted when I saw Nancy for the first time at East Bay Deli in Charleston. A Clemson graduate, Nancy was SO spunky, cheerful, and was smiling ear to ear. Will, her fiancé, came along too and he took everything in and had to reel Nancy back in a few times. Her last words at our meeting were, “So I’m ready to book you! What do we need to do next?” Will very calmly said, “Nancy…we need to speak to your dad first!” Behind my professional exterior, I was just as excited as Nancy, so also had to rein myself in, too, about the possibility of being their photographer. Will had two pistols on his hands! I think this was a perfect introduction to Nancy and Will. They make a great couple, complementing each other so well. Whether it was Clemson tailgating that Nancy introduced Will to or skiing in Vermont and fly fishing Will presented to Nancy, they both have different passions and already enjoy sharing them.
Nancy’s bridal portrait was a great opportunity for us to work with each other. As you will see, she is a beautiful bride! Nancy and Will opted to have an intimate wedding at the beautiful Inn at Palmetto Bluff. In addition to their family and friends, they both love their dogs, Jack and May, and having them with them over their wedding weekend was very meaningful.
I loved the oyster garland they had with gold markers to write well wishes on each oyster shell, so they can hang these garlands on their Christmas tree in the years to come. Nancy’s cousin Whaley is a super talented artist. For the Save the Date Cards, Whaley painted the Chapel at Palmetto Bluff. Such a beautiful, whimsical first impression of what was to come for this wedding weekend. The coral bridesmaids’ dresses by Lela Rose, were absolutely stunning and looked fabulous on each maid. The reception at the Inn was loads of fun! Will’s nephew, almost stole the show away with his dance moves, watch out ladies, we have a fire cracker on our hands! S’mores topped off the evening and more fire with the sparklers as the newlyweds exited.
Thank you to Nancy & Will and your families for allowing me to capture the weekend of your most precious moments as a newly married couple.Palmetto Bluff – Bluffton, SC
